Your passing was a sad day not only for your family and friends, but was a sad day for the Fire Brigade. Your legacy and memory will live on in the countless people you have mentored throughout your time in CFA. But most importantly Bob, you had a heart of gold and your personality and little quips made everyone smile.

Rest easy Bob, you have answered your final call, we will take it from here.

We had lots of good times with our boys and our friends at East Keilor, Bullengarook and also Sunbury through cricket, playing football, umpiring and CFA. Special times with Jake (however briefly), Brodie, Jaiden and Maddy Jane, our Grandchildren. Love always, Joan xxxx

Dear Joan and the Manton Family.
We are deeply sorry for your loss as Bob was a special person who touched a lot of people.
Bob and I spent a lot of time together at the Fire Station and he would get me in trouble most Sunday Mornings we were together.
We would met up for a Tuesday coffee and solve the CFA and worlds problems, but typical males we forgot to write down the answers.
We shared many common interests including Caravanning and touring the country.
He was a great man and I will truly miss him.
All our love.

Tracy, Josh and Chelsea Taylor on 17 September, 2020 at 7:32pm

To Joan and Family,

We were lucky to meet Bob in the park years ago whilst our dogs played. Bob and I would talk for ages, solving the problems of the world. Joan would come looking for Bob as he'd head to the park and just not return. We eventually progressed from chats in the park to cups of tea in our houses, which led to wine and cheese afternoons, and lovely dinners.

Bob was a part of our days for the past few years. There will be a gap now that will never be filled.

We have thoroughly enjoyed Bob's sense of humour, wit and puns. He certainly kept us on our toes!

I am honoured to have been with you until your last day Bob. I have such beautiful memories of our time together.

Love to Joan and all Bob's siblings.

Brian, Heather, Rodney, Darren, Steven & Russell Rich on 17 September, 2020 at 6:46pm

Bob was one of the first people to welcome myself and my family when I started my career with the Riddle Umpires. Quite quickly I came to realise what a giant Bob was within the Riddle Umpires and this was recognised quite rightly by the association when he was named the association Umpire of the Century. Bob your experience, guidance, advice and friendship over the journey was something that I will remember forever. Joan and family please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. Bob will be sorely missed by us all.
